Last week we discussed the importance of reading your data and recognizing opportunities through that data. This week we'll look more closely at your full practice story.

Many of our clients have been practicing medicine for 15 or more years. Their stories exemplify the ebb and flow of owning a practice with successful and unsuccessful years. They have dissected the learnings and made efforts to enhance practice processes to move forward. After a period of time, they realize those enhancements are no longer working.

How your story is written is up to you. It is your journey and you have to be completely committed to the direction of your practice. Commitment to grow your practice requires a level of dedication to yourself, your staff, your patients and to growth strategies that will change how your story continues.

As you consider how you want your practice story to be written, you may seek advice from family, friends, and financial advisors. Friends and financial advisors may tell you that you need to grow your practice while your family encourages you to slow down. Some of this advice may contradict your vision and values. Remember, it is your story.

Regardless of the advice that you receive, stay committed to your values and goals. Your story has as many chapters as you decide that it has, so please keep writing.
